Dr. Erin Hambrick (Dr. Erin) is a Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist. She specializes
in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with histories of trauma and
adversity, such as child maltreatment, disasters, and violence. She also treats a range of
mental health problems in childhood and adolescence (behavior, anxiety, mood, parent-child
interaction problems), including mental health problems associated with medical conditions.
Dr. Erin sees patients ages 0 – 21 and their families. She is always seeking to integrate the best available scientific evidence into her practice. Dr. Erin also values patient-centered care and works from a strengths-based perspective. Specific interventions in which Dr. Erin has expertise include Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Habit Reversal Training for Tics and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety, Depression, and Sleep Problems, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for behavior problems. In addition, Dr. Erin is undergoing certification in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (Phase I), an approach to clinical problem solving for children with histories of developmental trauma via the ChildTrauma Academy.
When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Erin teaches and conducts research at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and with the ChildTrauma Academy. She values family, humor, and curiosity and engages in mindfulness-based yoga whenever possible.
